Find out how your personality affects your dog's behaviour

We hope you enjoy this article

Hello sunnies!

Did you know that our pets' behaviour does not only depend on their genes, but is also strongly influenced by their environment? And today we are going to talk about how we influence behaviour of our friends the dogs.

Dogs are very sensitive to our emotions. Not only can they pick up on whether we are happy, sad or angry through our gestures, our scent or our tone of voice, but they can also respond to our emotions with their behaviour.  Dogs have cells in their brains called '.mirror neurons'. These neurons, which are responsible for emotional contagion within the group, help them to feel the same as you do at any given moment. For example, you have found that if you yawn, your dog might yawn too, or the other way around. With these capabilities of dogs, it is not unusual that science has found a link between some maladaptive or bad behaviours in dogs and the personality of their guardians. Specifically, impulsive people who are easily angered or who use harsh training methods on dogs are the ones who affect their behaviour the worst as they make dogs feel frightened and confused. The good news is that a good relationship with your dog also helps him to improve his behaviour. In other words, if you build confidence and are kind when you train your dog, you can help him to behave well and make good decisions. So now you know, if you want your dog to behave well, behave well with him and set an example. I bid you a fond farewell and, see you in the next post.
